Our story

Rooted on the river

Who we are

Eco Destination Tours is a small Guyanese company built around the rivers we call home. We keep groups small, food local, and days unhurried — because we believe Guyana’s calm is its greatest luxury.

How we travel

Our approach

I
Small groups
Typically 2–8 guests. Small enough to change pace, linger where the day is good, and never feel like a tour bus on water.
II
Local hands
Guides and kitchens from the communities we visit. The people who show you the river are the people who live on it.
III
Honest travel
Real durations, real conditions, no overselling. If a day is long or a start is early, the tour page says so before you book.
Working on the business

Growing with our guides

Our day trips are increasingly delivered by trained local guides — people from the river communities who know these waters best — while our founder focuses on building new experiences and making every existing one better. It means more work stays in the communities we visit, and the tours keep improving season after season.

One source of truth

Why one website

This site is the single authoritative source for our packages, prices, and contact details. Older social media pages may still appear in searches and may be outdated — when in doubt, always check here. If something on this site and something elsewhere disagree, this site is right.
